Larry Thomas Loomis

In loving memory of Larry Thomas Loomis (80) of Centerton, AR, formerly of Blytheville, AR, who peacefully passed away on January 14, 2024. Known for his patience, kindness, and willingness to lend a helping hand, Larry left a lasting impact on all who knew him.

Born in East Prairie, MO, on September 30, 1943, to Willie and Bertha Loomis, he graduated from East Prairie High School in 1963. Larry enlisted in the United States Air Force in September 1964, serving 4 years, including a year in Vietnam from 1967 to 1968. Stationed at Loring AFB in Caribou, ME, he exemplified dedication during his military service.

On July 17, 1965, he married Sharon Ann Harper, and together they had three children: Tracy, Christopher, and Patrick. Larry worked at Randall Textron in Blytheville, AR, from 1968 to 1993 and later at NIBCO until his retirement in 2011.

A devoted family man, Larry cherished spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren—Sam, Spencer, Addison, Emerson, and Maggie. His interests included golf, painting, and fishing. He was an active member of Blytheville First Baptist Church before relocating to Northwest Arkansas, where he attended Rogers First Baptist Church.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, Willie and Bertha Loomis, brothers Bennie, Gary, and Dennis, and son Christopher Lee Loomis.

He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Sharon Loomis, children Tracy Burnett and her husband Bryant, Patrick Loomis and his wife Brandie, grandchildren, and sister Lelia Wade and husband Bill, and Floetta Byrd and a host of nieces and nephews.

Services for Larry will be held and the First Baptist Church of Rogers Olive Street Campus (626 W Olive St, Rogers, AR 72756) on Thursday, January 18, 2024. Visitation will be at 9 am, with services starting at 10 am, followed by a graveside service.
